Message from the founder
"Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom or philosophy."
The words of the great composer, Ludwig van Beethoven, sum up the relevance of music to life.
During the course of my concerts and travels, I am often asked what inspired me to become a pianist. The fact is, from my earliest years, music was always the center of my life and dreams, and I could never have imagined becoming anything other than a musician. Music has always been my most precious gift, my greatest passion, my motivation, my companion, and my raison d'être. It has touched my life in more ways than I can ever describe.
The Katie Mahan Foundation "Music for a Bright Tomorrow" was born from my love of music and my desire to use music's unique power to inspire giving, increase understanding, and unite people in order to make the world a better place. As an integral part of enduring society, I believe that music plays a vital role in uniting people to care and give in a global world that faces many challenges. I have donated my talent to benefit humanitarian and educational causes from the earliest years of my performances on-stage, and I am continually in awe of the power that music has to communicate and inspire deeper understanding. As a musician, I believe that it is my responsibility to keep this music alive so that it can continue to touch other people's lives as it has my own, and make the world a better place.Through "Music for a Bright Tomorrow" my goal is to ensure a strong future for the music I love and to use that great music to transform lives and the world in a positive way. I am excited about the events and projects that my foundation will participate in, and am grateful to those individuals and companies who share in my beliefs and goals, without whose help "Music for a Bright Tomorrow" would not be possible.
